Due to a possible volcanic eruption near the town of Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula of Iceland a ban on drone flights in the vicinity of the town has been issued by the Police Commissioner of Suðurnes. The ban has already come into effect and will be valid till midnight on November 29th, 2023.

Now the application for Tachograph cards has become digital on Iceland.is. Professional drivers can therefore apply for and renew their cards with electronic identification where information on driving rights, photographs, and signatures is retrieved from the district commissioner's database.

For safety reasons, the commissioner of police in Northeast Iceland has decided to prohibit the flight of drones over the festival area of Fish Day Great in Dalvík, from 08:00 on Saturday 12 August to 08:00 on Sunday 13 August.
