Drone Ban over Volcanic Eruption Site – Reykjanes Peninsula

Due to a volcanic eruption and necessary emergency and investigative flights, the Icelandic Transport Authority, at the request of the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management, has prohibited all drone operations over the eruption site on the Reykjanes Peninsula.

The restricted area is defined as a 2 NM circular zone centered at:
Litla Skógfell (63°54'55"N 022°20'09"W)
The ban applies from surface (SFC) up to 1500 feet above mean sea level (AMSL).
The restriction is valid from 1000 to 1600 UTC on 31 July 2025.
