• Visiting time is between 16 and 18 and at other times in consultation with the staff.

• Visitors with symptoms of respiratory infections may not visit.

Individuals are available to try and examine various assistive devices. You can make an appointment and get advice on how to choose an assistive device and instructions.

Assistance equipment includes:

The basis of the work is interdisciplinary teamwork in cooperation with patients and their families.

The teams consists of:

• physicians

• nurses

• physiotherapists

• occupational therapists

• social worker

• paramedics

• assistants

Cooperation with health care, home care, various resources of the town of Akureyri and Active Vocational Rehabilitation is an important part of the job. The team of speech therapist and psychologist also includes psychologists when appropriate.

Day patients are those who only stay in the ward during the day. They have facilities for rest and a ward closet.

• The day rooms contain radio and televisions. All rooms have radio and most rooms have good viewing. Free-floats come on weekdays and are available in a day room.

• Those who subscribe to a newspaper/newspapers may receive them from the department, and it is sufficient to request this when distributing the newspaper in question.

• The Faculty has a library. Patients have free access to the library during their stay.

• Wireless network is in the day room.
