• Visits are coordinated with the department's nurses. In the mornings, patient care, clinical access and research are conducted, so visits are difficult to arrange at that time.

• Family members are welcome during the period between 14 and 20 hours and at other times by agreement.

• It is not recommended to have more than two family members to be with the patient at any time. The patient´s condition might not allow long visits.

• Visits with children under 12 years of age are not permitted unless in consultation with the nurses in the unit.

• Before entering the ward, family members are asked to ring the doorbell.

Short-term monitoring is carried out on patients who:

• have undergone surgery in an operating room

• have been sedated in the imaging department

• have been sedated upon awakening for electroconvulsive therapy / electrotherapy

• receive pain management for chronic pain

After the monitoring is over, clients either go to other wards or home.
