The Hospital Board of Landspítali operates in accordance with the Health Services Act. In July 2026, the Minister of Health appointed the following members for a two-year term:

• Anna Sigríður Íslind, Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Reykjavík University.

• Thor Aspelund, Professor at the Centre of Public Health Sciences at the University of Iceland.

• Guðjón Hauksson, CEO of Akureyri Hospital.

Alternate board members

• Óskar Reykdalsson, General Practitioner.

• Sigurbjörg Sigurgeirsdóttir, Professor Emerita of Public Administration.

Employee representatives

Two employee representatives attend Board meetings with the right to speak and submit proposals, but without voting rights.
