Number of Hours
Individuals can get 6 sessions with a physiotherapist subsidized without a doctor's request.
Individuals with a medical request can get 15 sessions with a physiotherapist over a 12-month period.
If more appointments are needed, the physiotherapist must apply for it separately. Home services for physiotherapists Home physiotherapy is a necessary treatment for an individual who is so physically fit that he cannot be treated in a clinic. The physiotherapist applies in advance for Iceland Health's participation in the cost. The patient pays the same fee for home physiotherapy and physiotherapy in the clinic. Health insurance may waive the patient's fee in the case of a very serious medical condition.

Municipalities care for children with minor abnormalities due to speech disorders that do not meet the requirements of Iceland Health.

Health insurance also subsidizes:
1 diagnosis per 12 month period.
2 hours of counseling.
Health insurance does not provide grants for speech therapy for speech pathologists who work without a contract.
