Home care services

To apply for home care, call the clinic whom the service user is registered.

Domestically care is for people of all ages that live at home and need specialized and focused nursing care to be able to live as normal lives as possible.

The aim of home care is to provide personable, focused, effective and professional home care, with the aim of enabling those who receive the service to live at home in the most natural conditions despite illness, health problems or ageing. In home care, nurses and paramedics work in accordance with the need in cooperation with the resident physicians. There is also a great deal of collaboration with social services and providers of other support services. Requests for home care may come from the patient himself, family members, hospitals or other institutions.

When home care has been requested, the nurse shall visit, assess nursing needs and organise the service in collaboration with the individual, the general practitioner and the family members.

The decision to provide home care is based on an assessment by a nurse based on gathering information. Emphasis is placed on evaluating whether and how home care will improve/support the health of the individual and his/her family.
