All major research and X-rays are available at the Healthcare Institution of South Iceland.

There are laboratories in Selfoss, Vestmannaeyjar and Höfn in Hornafjörður. At the laboratories there are performed researches in hematology, clinical biochemistry and microbiology. The laboratories work in close contact with the laboratories at Landspítali.

There is an imaging department at HSU in Selfoss and Vestmannaeyjar. There they offer all general X-Ray imaging and CT scans. General X-Ray is also offered in Höfn in Hornafjörður.
