Infant and toddler health care
The infant and child health service focuses on monitoring the physical, mental and social development of children and providing support and education as needed.
Visiting parents of newborn children are offered home visits for the first few weeks. The number of visits is dependent on the needs of each family. A nurse or midwife visits the home to assess the child's development, weight and principal circumference. Parents receive counselling and education regarding the child's care and their own wellbeing.
Healthcare inspections
When the baby is 6 weeks old, a medical check-up and vaccination are performed at the healthcare center. Routine vaccinations are carried out according to the guidelines of the Chief Epidemiologist at the Directorate of Health. Regular check-ups and developmental assessments are conducted until the child reaches the age of 4.
Parents are always welcome to contact their parents beyond these organised opinions.
