Prenatal care is available at HSN in pre-booked appointments.

Prenatal care is in the hands of midwives but in good collaboration with doctors as well as obstetricians at Akureyri Hospital.

Prenatal care arrangements

• Week 8-12: First visit

• Week 16: Examination/interview

• Week 19-20: Ultrasound

• Week 25-34: Examination every three weeks

• Week 34-40: Examination every two weeks

• Week 41: Examination by midwife and/or obstetrician
