The Healthcare Institution of North Iceland provides healthcare services, hospital services and geriatric services in the form of nursing and residential facilities. The service area extends from Blönduós in the west to Þórshöfn in the east. The service is based on expertise in general medicine, nursing and health protection and aims to promote, improve and maintain health.

1700 is an on-call phone service available 24 hours a day all year. Nurses give consultations and guidance and contact a doctor when needed.

Repeat prescriptions can be renewed electronically through Heilsuvera.
Please note that it can take up to 3 weekdays to get a renewal.
