Applications are now accepted for regional quota for the fishing year 2025/2026.

Applications are now accepted for regional quota according to regulation on allocation of regional quotas to fishing vessels in the fishing year 2025/2026 and advertisement (2) on special regulations of municipalities for allocation of regional quotas for the fishing year 2025/2026.

Applications are open for:

• Blönduós

• Hvammstangi

• Súðavík

• Höfn í Hornarfirði

• Þorlákshöfn

• Sandgerði

Guidelines:

• Applications must go through the application system. Electronic ID of the vessel's operator is necessary to open the application portal. All required fields must be filled out.

• When applying in a municipality where there is a processing obligation, a declaration of processing of catch must be signed and confirmed by the municipality and submitted to the Directorate of Fisheries so that allocation can take place.

• The result of the application will only be published in the applicant's mailbox on Ísland.is
  If the applicant wishes to receive a letter by other means, the request must be sent to fiskistofa@fiskistofa.is.

• The last application date is the 31st of March 2026.
