Role of Digital Iceland
Digital Iceland assists applicants with the implementation of Straumurinn and guides public entities in the setup of security servers.
Digital Iceland is also responsible for the development and maintenance of „Miðjan“ the system‘s central component and enters into agreements with the operators who manage it at any given time.
Digital Iceland is also Iceland’s representative in the international NIIS collaboration, which is responsible for the development of the core software of the X-Road service.
Technical information
The service terms of Straumurinn (X-Road) constitute an agreement between the service recipient and the operator regarding quality requirements, access, and maintenance in connection with the use of Straumurinn.
