Digital steps of government agencies
Digital steps
There are nine Digital Steps:

The Digital Steps recognition was first awarded in 2022.
The period under review is from October to September each year, and recognition is awarded to public entities that achieve the Digital Steps at the Connecting the State conference. The Digital Steps are an incentive award for public entities, but not all 9 steps apply to the services of all public entities.
The Digital Steps encourage the use of investment in digital infrastructure, and the Ministry's objective in granting recognition to public entities is to acknowledge those that utilize open and shared tools developed by Digital Iceland.
Public entities that have completed all 9 Digital Steps receive the formal suffix of a “digital” public entity.
Public entities that have started the journey get to display a project status showing where they are. The status is updated once a year - every autumn in the run-up to the Connecting the State conference.
Here you can find a list of public entities and the Digital Iceland services they use for their customers.
The Digital Steps will evolve in the coming years in line with digital development.
