Make an appointment for breast screening

Breast screening is a breast examination for asymptomatic women. Asymptomatic women 40 to 74 years old who have received a letter for screening can order an appointment by:

• call the Breast Centre at 543 9560 from 9 to 15.30 on weekdays

• send inquiry to the email address brjostaskimun@landspitali.is

• book an appointment here

Invitation letter for breastscreening

Women at the ages of:

• 40 to 69 years old, receive invitations every two years

• 70 to 74 years old, receive invitations every three years

Women over 74 years of age do not receive a letter of invitation but are welcome for screening and can contact their family doctor or the Breast Centre and make an appointment.

Screening results

You will receive an electronic response letter from screening at Heilsuveru and Ísland.is when the resault are available, usually within three weeks.
