Spouses are obliged to support each other and, in the case of legal separation, a decision must be taken as to whether either spouse shall pay the other a support pension or pension, as the mutual obligation to support between the spouses remains in force up to the time that divorce is granted. In the event of a dispute regarding payment of support payments or pensions, the District Commissioner shall rule on the case and an appeal may be made against the ruling of the District Commissioner to the Ministry of Justice.

After divorce, one spouse may not be required to pay the other a pension or support payments unless absolutely necessary.
