It is not possible to take a lot of furniture with you when moving to a nursing home. A TV and some kind of player for music or books will come in handy, and it is important to bring personal items such as photographs. Then it can be nice to write down the person's "Life Story". It encourages talking about what the person remembers and knows, and hopefully prevents the householder from endlessly being offered food or drink that they don't like at all.
