Special contribution amounts
Each year, the Ministry issues guidelines to the District Commissioners on threshold amounts for claims for special contributions for the burial, baptism or burial of the deceased.
The thresholds for the following amounts will be 2026:
Christening - 109,000 ISK - 144,000 ISK
Baptisms - 29,000 kr. - 37,000 kr.
Burial - 109,000 kr - 160,000 kr.
No amounts have been issued for other contributions covered by Article 60 of the Children's Act No. 76/2003.
