Contract on a special contribution
Parents can share the responsibility for paying special expenses for the child, without the involvement of the District Commissioner, if both agree.
Parents can also make a formal agreement on a special contribution for the child and request a confirmation of the agreement from the District Commissioner. A payment can be collected according to a contract confirmed by the District Commissioner and can be demanded by means of foreclosure.
You can apply to TR to get paidchild support, educational contribution and special contributions that have been decided by a District commissioner's ruling, a contract confirmed by the District commissioner, a court order or a court settlement. The condition is that the recipient of the payment lives in Iceland.
TR payment of child support and educational contributions is limited to the amount of single child support. The payment of TR for special contributions is only for expenditure items specified in the Ministry of Justice's reference amounts and never more than the amount specified therein.
