You can notify the police about:
a collision
a collision that involved a violation of traffic laws
The information you need to provide depends on what you're reporting.
Reporting a collision
You don't need to report a collision to the police if:
no one was injured,
you got information about the other driver or vehicle owner,
no traffic violation occurred.
In all other cases, a collision must be reported to the police.
Provide as much information as you can when you submit the report. If you have recordings or information about other witnesses, it can help clarify:
how the collision happened
whether a traffic violation occurred
