Sign language counselling

The role of the liaison centre's advisors is to provide services to the families of children in sign language and to provide information to their parents or guardians.

A contact centre consultant visits families as needed.

It is crossed:

  • the main means of communication,

  • teaching Icelandic Sign Language, which is related as daily activities of the family

  • education on the culture of the Deaf.

An SHH counsellor puts families in contact with sign language teachers and families can attend family courses in Icelandic sign language at no cost to them.
