The Pain Management Centre provides diagnosis, treatment, and consultation for complex pain conditions requiring specialist care. It serves patients of all ages with chronic or difficult pain, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Referrals are also accepted from primary care and external specialists for patients who need specialized pain management.
The centre is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists in pain management, including physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, a psychologist, a pharmacist, and administrative staff.
Operations and Services
The operations are diverse and include:
Diagnosis and detailed assessment of patients' pain.
Consultation for healthcare professionals and institutions regarding pain management.
Performing specific interventions such as spinal cord stimulator implantation, radiofrequency treatment, nerve blocks, and medication administration.
Education, training, quality improvement, and scientific research.
Referral to Services
A referral from a healthcare professional is required to access services at the Pain Management Center – Pain Team.
