Please note that everyone is welcome to attend screening at the Breast Center in Reykjavík, regardless of where they live.

Please note that breast screening is available year-round at Akureyri Hospital (SAK) for individuals living in Akureyri and nearby areas.

Invitation to breast screening

Screening is offered by age:

• 40 to 69 years old, receive an invitation every two years

• 70 to 74 years old, receive an invitation every three years

• Those older than 74 do not receive an invitation letter but are welcome for screening and can contact their general practitioner or the Breast Center to book an appointment

Screening results

You will receive an electronic response letter from screening at Heilsuveru and Ísland.is when the resault are available, usually within three weeks.
