Breast screening is also available at Akureyri Hospital and at other locations across Iceland.
Breast screening is intended for women who do not have any breast symptoms. If you have noticed any changes or symptoms in your breasts, we recommend contacting primary care by calling 1700. If you are registered with a privately operated primary care center (Kirkjusandur, Höfði, Urðarhvarf or Salahverfi), contact your primary care center directly. A nurse will assess your symptoms and determine whether further examination is needed.
