Cardioversion
Cardioversion is performed for patients with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter to restore normal heart rhythm. More information via email: rafvending@landspitali.is
Symptoms of heart rhythm irregularities may include:
Rapid and irregular pulse
Dizziness
Reduced endurance
Weakness
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
The usual waiting time for cardioversion is 4–6 weeks.
If the arrhythmia has lasted less than 1–2 days, cardioversion can typically be performed quickly.
