The Women’s Health Team provides education and guidance, and also addresses diseases and health issues that are unique to women.
All women can register for courses, which is usually the first step. After participating in a course the next steps regarding diagnosis and treatment can be taken either within or outside of Heilsubrú.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective way to deal with psychological problems
Heilsubrú offers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in group courses that last four to six weeks
CBT courses are available for stress, anxiety and depression, insomnia and for improved self-esteem.
The courses are in Icelandic but CPT - Depression and anxitey is also offered in English.
Heilsbrú offers a course in Icelandic suitable for those who want to learn about type 2 diabetes.
The goal is to increase knowledge and understanding of the disease to improve well-being and treatment adherence.

Nutritionists at Heilsubrú provide individualized counseling and nutritional therapy.
Healthcare professionals at health centers refer individuals to interviews with a nutritionist.
The nutritionists also advise professionals and participate in Heilsubrú's education and course delivery.
Course in Icelandic: Þyndarstjórnunarkerfið
Heilsubrú employs gynecologists and obstetricians who provide advice to expectant mothers. Midwives also provide ultrasound examinations.
Midwives at health centers refer women to the service at Heilsubrú as needed.
Courses suitable for all expectant parents are also available.
Heilsubrú is the home base for pharmacists who provide services at health centers.
Heilsubrú is a home base for nurses working in upper secondary schools in the capital area.
They provide individual counseling and group education on mental health, sexual health and general health.
The nurses also provide students with guidance on the healthcare system as needed.
