Heilsugæsla höfuðborgarsvæðisins (The Primary Health Care in the Capital Area) operates 15 health centers and three localized mental health teams in the capital area. The organization also operates specialized mental health teams that operate in all of Iceland, including the Children's mental health center, the ADHD mental health team, the Mental health team for neurodevelopmental disorders, and the Brain stimulation center.

Heilsugæsla höfuðborgarsvæðisins also provides specialized services such as Home nursing, Health screening for immigrants, Coordination center for cancer screenings, an Information center and the Development Center for Primary Healthcare in Iceland.
