The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries has sent out an announcement about lumpfish fishing from 1st to 20th of March.
Applications for permits to line fish Atlantic tuna have been opened.

Applications are now accepted for regional quota for the fishing year 2023/2024.
5th March 2024
During the period from 1st to 20th of March, vessel can take one break from fishing lasting beyond 20th of March.

Remotely Piloted Aircrafts will be used for monitoring by the Directorate of Fisheries in March and we would like to ask fishermen to keep in mind that all recordings are carefully examined and fish that goes overboard is species analyzed.

The Directorate of Fisheries reminds that vessels that engage in net fishing, other than lumpfish fishing, must release all live lumpfish from the nets when they are towed.
