Elín Björg Ragnarsdóttir appointed the Director general of the Directorate of Fisheries

The Minister of Food, Fisheries and Agriculture has appointed Elín Björg Ragnarsdóttir as Director general of Directorate of Fisheries from the 1st of June.
Elín Björg completed a master's degree (ML) in law from the University of Bifröst in 2010 and a B.S. degree in commercial law from the same school in 2008. Elín Björg has a diploma in maritime law from Rhodes Academy of Oceans Law and Policy from 2022. Elín Björg has also completed studies in fisheries and fish technology from Tækniskólinn along with various courses in the field of business management and operations.
Elín Björg has held various committee and management positions and participated in working groups related to the fishing industry and fisheries management. She has been working at the Directorate of Fisheries since 2016, from 2020 as Director of the Surveillance Division, and since January this year as Deputy Director-General.
