The Directorate of Fisheries would like to draw attention to the fact that all special fishing permits must be applied for separately for each fishing year. Current special permits will expire on 31st of August this year.

Applications for permits are submitted through a digital application system. To access the application system, the operator's electronic ID are required. All requested information should be filled out completely.

Following permits are those that must be applied for separately:

• Danish seine fishing permit

• Ocean quahog fishing permit for human consumption *

• Common whelk fishing permit*

• Crustaceans fishing permit

• Recreational fishing permit (The condition for issuing a permit is that the vessel operator has a tour operator's license from the Icelandic Tourist Board, and those vessels that intend to fish with sea pole without profiting from the catch need a passenger license from the Icelandic Transport Authority)

* An application for a star-marked permits must be accompanied by a processing agreement or an equivalent statement in the case of own processing. In both cases, confirmation from MAST must be included that the processing in question has a valid processing permit from MAST.
