Questions and answers regarding My Pages on Ísland.is
My Pages at Ísland.is are a central service portal that government agencies use to deliver data and services to individuals and legal entities in a simple way.
All individuals and legal entities with an Icelandic ID number can automatically access My Pages via Ísland.is. There is no need to apply for access specifically but you do need to have a digital ID to authenticate yourself.
All individuals and legal entities with an Icelandic ID number who have applied for a digital ID (ice. rafræn skilríki).
Not yet, but My Pages are growing steadily over time with more government agencies joining in.
To access My Pages, individuals and legal entities need to log in using Digital ID's. This ensures that the person only sees their own data or the data they have a mandate to view.
You can get an electronic ID at registration centres all over the country, which are located at telecommunication companies, banks and at Auðkenni.
A searchable map with all registration authorities can be found on the Auðkenni website.
Here you can contact Ísland.is. The service centre receives enquiries and directs them to the appropriate channels.
Only Icelandic phone numbers can be registered on My Pages.
You can find companies, associations or institutions you have been granted an access to on My Pages by:
Logging in to My Pages using your own personal digital ID.
Select your name in the upper-right corner. From there, select Switch user, then you will see an overview off your access.
If a company or associations does not appear automatically, a power of attorney registration is missing. In that case, you need to contact the Company Registration (ice. Fyrirtækjaskrá) of the Icelandic Revenue and Customs via email at fyrirtaekjaskra@skatturinn.is.
This error occurs when no user is found for the phone number/national ID number you provide.
If a user was previously active, one of the following may apply:
The digital ID has expired.
The digital ID has been revoked because the wrong PIN was entered too many times.
The digital ID has been revoked due to a change of SIM card or a new phone.
If you receive such an error, you will need to have a new digital ID issued.
If you have a valid Icelandic passport, you can go through a self-service process and have an digital ID issued via the Auðkenni app; see instructions from Auðkenni.
Alternatively, visit the nearest digital ID registration office with a valid form of identification (driving licence or passport) and apply for a new electronic ID.
Please note that digital certificates are not a valid form of personal identification.
Upon death, access to the person's My pages is closed, so it is not possible to grant a power of attorney to my pages for the estate of the deceased.
If you need documents, you will need to contact the relevant institutions directly and present the power of attorney for the estate to them.
Work is underway to make grades and qualifications from the Icelandic education system accessible in one place on My Pages. Schools abroad are not participating in this project.
To log in to My Pages on Ísland.is, you need an electronic ID, which you can apply for at Auðkenni registration centres.
If you have a valid Icelandic passport, you can use the Auðkenni app to set up your digital ID.
If you are unable to register for an electronic ID, you will need to contact the agencies you require documents from directly.
You can see which agency sent you documents in the notification email you received, where it says:
“[Name of agency] has sent you a new document in your inbox on Ísland.is.”
An individual under the age of 18 must register their own bank details on My pages at Ísland.is. They log in with their electronic ID, then select:
User Info → My Settings → Information
There, they can register the bank account they want the Financial Management Authority to use for refunds.
Parents or legal guardians cannot register bank details for children.
