Access

The Icelandic Audio Library is only for those who have reading difficulties. The reasons for this can be blindness, visual impairment, dyslexia or other factors that hamper reading.

Conditions

An application form must be submitted along with a signed certificate by a professional. The certificate must clearly state that the applicant cannot use the printed font and the reason for doing so.

Only a certificate must be submitted and not the analysis itself.

Fees

The annual fee for the museum is:

  • 3000 ISK for adults

  • Free for children under 18

A claim is created in the home bank of the borrower once he/she has been registered. Access is opened once the claim has been paid.

Application process

Electronic

Applications can be made with electronic ID and equivalent to a signature. An electronic application for a child under the age of 18 is made through a guardian. When a registered guardian applies electronically, he/she selects the ID number of the child for whom he/she is applying.

On paper

Applications can also be made in paper form. The application must be signed and submitted to the museum. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, the signature of the guardian must be submitted.
