Grants for Icelandic lessons for foreigners

Education providers, companies, and institutions that offer Icelandic courses which are not part of the general curriculum at the primary or secondary school level.

Education providers must have been accredited by the Ministry of Education and Children's Affairs on the basis of Article 7 of the Act on Continuing Education, and companies or institutions that offer their employees organised instruction in Icelandic and are on the Register of Enterprises.

Companies or institutions that are not educational providers must have a contract with an accredited continuing education provider who will be responsible for the instruction. The contract must state who the contracting parties are, a description of the content of the service provided, and the amount paid for it. A copy of the contract must be included with the company's application.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the Rannís application system.
