Parties to a lease agreement
A lease agreement always involves at least two parties: the landlord and the tenant. The following information must be stated regarding the parties to the agreement:
Names, home addresses, and national identification numbers (kennitala) of the contracting parties.
If the landlord or tenant is unable to fulfill their obligations personally, e.g. due to long-term absence or illness, it is necessary to register an authorized representative. If this is the case, the following information must be provided:
Name, home address, and national identification number of authorized representative acting on behalf of the landlord
An estate of a deceased person may act as the landlord, in which case an authorized representative must be registered.
