Create and register lease agreement
Parties to a lease agreement
A lease agreement always involves at least two parties: the landlord and the tenant. The following information must be stated regarding the parties to the agreement:
Names, home addresses, and national identification numbers (kennitala) of the contracting parties.
Name, home address, and national identification number of any authorized representative acting on behalf of the landlord
It is necessary to register an authorized representative for the landlord if the landlord is unable to fulfill their obligations personally, for example due to long-term absence or illness.
An estate of a deceased person may act as the landlord, in which case an authorized representative must be registered.
