The age for driving a license is 17 years and is based on the date that the applicant turns 17 years old. It is worth taking enough time to study for your driving licence. Driving studies may begin at the age of 16. The time at which a driving study is commenced, however, depends on various factors such as the season, residence, economy, personal circumstances or personal motivation. It is important to read up on driving studies and the driving test.

The licence confers a general category B driving licence.

The first driving licence is a temporary licence valid for 3 years. If the licence holder has completed driving school 3, driving assessment and has no points, then an application for a full licence may be submitted one year after the issue of a temporary licence. Full licences shall be valid for 15 years at a time.
