Digital driver's license in the Ísland.is app
The Icelandic digital drivers license is only available as a part of the Ísland.is app. Users with a drivers license can download the app (link below), sign in with their electronic ID and find and display their license from the app's Wallet screen.
A digital driver's license is an innovation useful to any person who has earned the right to drive and owns a smartphone. The digital license verifies that the person in question has a valid driver's license and includes all the same information that is presented on the physical driver's license.
The digital driver's license is only valid in Iceland.
A digital driver's license can be used to
verify driving permissions for the police
A digital driver's license cannot be used to
renew digital credentials (in this case you must show a passport or physical driver's license)
