If you cycle on a sidewalk or a footpath, the same rules apply to a scooter there, as does a bicycle.

  • When being cycled on sidewalks and pedestrian paths, this shall be done on condition that it does not cause danger or discomfort to pedestrians.

  • Priority is given to pedestrians and cyclists to take this into consideration, not least in terms of speed.

  • In general, all road users should stay to the right and overtake on the left.

  • Where there is a mark separating pedestrian and cycling traffic, they shall be observed and shall be on the side of the bicycle.

  • Cyclists should keep in mind that pedestrians do not expect a fast and sudden overtaking on the path. It is therefore important that the bicycle slows down well and gives an acoustic signal before approaching or before turning to a blind corner.
