Catch certificates
Catch Certificate and processing statements countries within the European Union
Are in a standardised format prepared by the EU and cannot be changed.
Are sent digitally from the Directorate of Fisheries' system to the EU's CATCH system.
Icelandic exporters therefore do not need to register, nor enter any other information into the EU's TRACES/CATCH system.
They are only issued for catch of Icelandic vessels.
If a mistake is made when entering information, the certificate can be corrected.
Catch Certificate
The product and fish species must be linked to a landing.
Products on catch certificates are placed in a CN code for unprocessed fish/raw material, and the first 6 digits of the CN code are used.
Note that if products come from a processing vessel, they are placed in the appropriate CN code based on the product's processing.
In the case of processed fish products, a processing statement must be prepared along with the catch certificate.
Processing Statement
A processing statement is created at the same time as a catch certificate in the catch certificate system.
The following information must be entered on the processing statement:
8-digit CN code based on the product's processing.
Net weight of product: the weight of the exported product
Processed quantity: the quantity of raw material used to produce the exported product
The fish processing plant that processed the products.
Please note
Exporters and processors of fish products are requested not to enter any information themselves into the EU's TRACES system regarding the issuance of catch and processing certificates.
Doing so may lead to an error resulting in the rejection of the catch or processing certificate.
