An educational website for young people about mental health is currently in development. The aim of the website is to provide young people with information about their health and well-being. The site will also feature practical advice, self-help resources, exercises, and information about early support and resources if needed.

The site’s content will be based on evidence-based educational material, and the website is modelled on, among others, the Danish website Mindhelper.dk. The website’s content categories will include anxiety, depression, love and sex, stress and loneliness. The website will be developed by specialists in the Public Health Division of the Directorate of Health, in collaboration with leading domestic experts in each field. The project is managed by Lífbrú - Centre for Suicide Prevention.

The development of this type of electronic educational material forms part of the work on the Strategic Action Plan for Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention in Iceland (action 5.3). The action has been funded by the Ministry of Health. The first version of the Icelandic website will publish content for young people. The Danish model also includes content for parents.

The website is scheduled to launch in late 2026.
