The accused has certain rights while a criminal case is being investigated by the police, handled by the prosecution or before a court.

The paternity of a child must be determined no later than six months after birth. A child born in marriage or partnership is determined automatically.

A physician shall write a death certificate under the Act on Death Certificates, Post-mortem examinations, etc., No. 61/1998.

Spouses or a spouse who consider that his or her marriage can not be continued shall be entitled to legal separation or divorce.
