Sabbatical Fund for Teachers and Administrators at Upper Secondary Level
Teachers, student and career counselors, headmasters, and other upper secondary school administrators who have worked for at least five years in teaching or administrative roles at an upper secondary school can apply for special study leave to enhance their knowledge and professional skills.
Study leave may consist of either full leave from work for up to one year or a reduction in work duties within that period, and/or payment of monthly salary for up to one year, or a proportional payment corresponding to the reduction in work duties, if applicable.
Headmasters may apply for leave on behalf of the school for individual teachers or student and career counselors for knowledge acquisition or training that the school prioritizes. The purpose of headmaster-initiated leave is to encourage teachers, counselors, and administrators with shorter work experience to pursue continuing education.
All applications must be submitted electronically through the Rannís application portal.
