In general
If you decide to file a police report, the case will go through a specific process in the justice system. This process can be difficult and time-consuming.
The first step is to contact the police:

Children under 18
Children under the age of 18 can contact the police or have someone they trust speak on their behalf. However, a parent or legal guardian mustfile a formal police report for them.
If a guardian is not available, other public entities , such as child protection services, can file the report.

If you decide to file a report and your case is with the police in the capital area or Suðurnes, you can track track your case in the service portal.
Information about cases involving children under 18 is not available in the portal.
