Passenger transport permit

In order to fulfill the conditions of the permit regarding qualifications, the permit holder or the responsible person of the permit has to complete the applicable course. The Driving school in Mjódd offers this course.

An exemption from the course or individual parts of it may be granted if the applicant or the person responsible for the permit can demonstrate that they have:

• Completed a degree in the subject(s) mentioned in the curriculum

• Have at least 10 years of work experience in running a business or business related education

The Icelandic Transport Authority may issue a temporary permit to an applicant for up to one year while the required training course is being attended in order to meet the conditions for professional competence.
