Public referendum 2026
Referendum will take place 29 August 2026
The referendum will ask whether Iceland should resume accession negotiations with the European Union.
The options on the ballot will be yes and no.
The National Electoral Commission shall organise an extensive programme to provide information on any matter submitted to a referendum.
