To access the complaint and supporting documents, the seller must log in to the Board's web portal and can subsequently submit a response along with supporting documents under "Actions".
In the response, the seller can state his/her views on the matter and reason for whether and why the consumer's claims should be rejected or referred from the board. The seller can then submit documents to support his/her case.
If the seller is an individual, they log in using electronic ID or the identification app.
If the seller is a registered company, a representative signer may log in to the Board's web portal. After logging in, it is possible to give another person access to the portal. The person is then given access to all documents available in the Board’s portal and may submit documents, responses, and comments on the seller’s behalf.
A person who has been given access logs in using their own electronic ID or identification app and selects the appropriate role after logging in.
Access control
To give access to a new person or to make changes to existing access rights, select “Access control” or "Skráning umboða" after logging in to the Board’s web portal.
New access is granted by selecting “New access” and entering the kennitala of the person who is to be given access. Then select “Kærunefnd vöru- og þjónustukaupa” from the list under “Access control”.
Once access has been granted, the person who has been given access may, after logging in to the Board’s web portal, choose to act either on their own behalf or on behalf of the seller they represent.
