World Sight Day
10th October 2024
The World Sight Day 2024 is held on October 10th. The day is intended to raise public awareness all over the world about blindness and visual impairment, vision loss and vision protection.
The World Sight Day is held every second Thursday in October. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of blindness and visual impairment, loss of vision and visual protection among the general public worldwide.
This year the theme of the day is children's visual protection. On the occasion of the day, parents, guardians and others who work with children are encouraged to consider their children's vision. This can include everything from booking regular appointments with an ophthalmologist to reducing screen time and spending more time outdoors. People are also encouraged to educate children about vision protection and its importance.
