Protection of personal data
The Communication Centre for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired (SHH) operates in accordance with the Act on the Protection and Processing of Personal Data, No. 90/2018. SHH's privacy policy concerns the handling, processing and retention of personal data. To ensure legitimate privacy, the Director of SHH has entered into an agreement with a lawyer to perform the duties of the institution's data protection officer.
With reference to the role of the Communication Centre for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired, cf. Article 2, points a., b., c. and d. and Article 2, a. of Act No. 129/1990 and Regulation No. 1058/2003, the institution is permitted to collect and process personal data, to the extent necessary to perform its statutory role and the tasks it has been assigned to perform by law, regulation or decision of the Minister. SHH's policy regarding privacy is that personal information is only collected, stored and processed if it is deemed necessary to meet the requirements of the laws and regulations that SHH is tasked with enforcing. Also, that the personal information of users of the organization's services, including sensitive, health and social personal information, is protected in an orderly manner. It is SHH's policy to ensure the protection, accuracy, transparency and access of individuals to their own data and information in SHH's custody and that personal information is not transmitted to unauthorized persons.
SHH's goal regarding privacy is to ensure that security is maintained when handling personal information in all of the organization's activities, whether the processing is related to direct service to users or employees, research or education. Also, that security is maintained when collecting and disseminating information to partners, i.e. by using the most secure methods available at any time and that privacy considerations are taken into account in all computer systems and all software owned by SHH or that SHH works with.
