The Communication Centre’s policy for 2024-2026 states that it will try to increase the availability of published symbolic cultural material, including the publication of interviews with Icelandic sign language speakers on SignWiki.

Open house at SHH, Laugavegur 166, 5th floor between 14 and 17 Monday, September 23. The Icelandic Language Communication Centre, the Icelandic Language Centre, celebrates the International Day of Sign Language with an open house in the new building of the Centre.

In May, two papers were published by Hólmfríður Þóroddsdóttir, Fríða, who works here at the Communication Centre. Both papers were based on her Master’s degree from the University of Iceland and discussed the preparation of sign language interpreters for their assignments.

Last Monday, Júlía G. Hreinsdóttir, the Head of Teaching at SHH, showed the educational material that SHH has been involved in, both for teaching Icelandic sign language and for teaching Icelandic sign language.
