SHH Children’s Page Launched on the Day of Icelandic Sign Language
11th February 2026
Today, on the Day of Icelandic Sign Language, the new and exciting Children’s Page of the Communication Centre for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SHH) was officially launched.
The opening took place during a celebratory program organized by the Icelandic Sign Language Council and Hlíðaskóli in honor of the day.
The new Children’s Page is intended for signing children of all ages and offers engaging and educational content in Icelandic Sign Language. It includes, among other things, VV stories, a variety of educational materials, content developed in the Sign Language Island project (Táknmálseyja), and much more.
The Children’s Page is under continuous development, and new material will be added regularly. The aim of the page is to strengthen access for signing children to content in Icelandic Sign Language and to create a platform where they can both learn and enjoy themselves.
