The Children's Hospital Oncology and Hematology Team
Services
The team provides services for children and adolescents under 18 years of age with cancer or serious and rare blood diseases that require specialized treatment.
The Team
Handles the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of the children in close collaboration with healthcare professionals, both inside and outside Landspítali (The National University Hospital of Iceland).
Provides education and support to families and others involved in the child's care, such as staff at preschools or primary schools.
Actively participates in research and development to improve services and future outcomes for children.
Consists of specialized doctors, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, and physical therapists.
Other specialists, such as a clinical pharmacist and professionals in pastoral care, work closely with the team.
